Robert Kelly: Timeline Of The Piss Piper
Timeline of criminal allegations against R. Kelly at the onset of his federal trial, beginning August 18, 2021.

Robert Sylvester Kelly is looking at charges that include running a sex trafficking “criminal enterprise”, racketeering, bribery, creating child pornography and extortion.
He faces four separate state AND federal sex crimes cases in total, with his first federal trial beginning today; Wednesday August 18, 2021.
The trial in New York will deal with multiple charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.
Despite the overwhelming evidence, dude has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges in every case against him.
While he prepares for court, lets take a closer look at the allegations that have followed him around since the early nineties…
1994: Aaliyah
In April 1994, R. Kelly who was 27 years old at the time, released the hit album ‘Bump n Grind’, rose to fame, and married the then 15-year-old singer Aaliyah later that year in a secret ceremony in Chicago.
The marriage was annulled after a few months in February 1995, because Aaliyah was not old enough to marry without the consent of her parents.
He claims he didn’t know Aaliyah was 15 at the time, but it was later alleged that Robert was charged with bribing a government official to get a fake ID for her.
Then, video evidence from a 1994 interview showed him acknowledging Aaliyah’s age by saying “Right now I’m producing a very talented lady…A young lady. She’s 14…Aaliyah.”
1996: Sued for inappropriate conduct
Kelly was sued in December 1996 by Tiffany ‘Tia’ Hawkins, an aspiring singer and high school student, for $10M. She alleged Kelly “engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct” with her in 1991, when she was 15 and he was 24, which caused “personal injuries and emotional distress.”
2001: Kelly’s former teen intern files lawsuit
In 2001, Tracy Sampson filed a lawsuit against the singer, accusing him of forcing her into a sexual relationship at the age of 16, while she was an intern. Kelly was 34 at the time.
Sampson said in her legal suit: “He often tried to control every aspect of my life including who I would see and where I would go.”
In an earlier interview, Sampson also said: “I was in love with him. I just didn’t know what to do, like I didn’t know if this was normal.”
“I didn’t know if this [was] how adults acted, like I just didn’t know. I didn’t know.”
Not too long after that interview aired in 2019, Kelly and record label Sony agreed to “part ways” after just about 30 years of working together.
Accusations continued to be made right on into the following year.
2002 – Child pornography charges, abortion & sex tape claims
In February 2002, a reporter from the *Chicago Sun-Times* anonymously received a videotape that allegedly showed R. Kelly engaging in inappropriate acts with a young girl, including instructing her to call him “daddy.” The reporter turned the tape over to law enforcement.
The girl’s aunt, who identified her niece in the footage, claimed that the girl was only 14 years old at the time. Kelly was subsequently charged with 21 counts of child pornography, all related to a single alleged victim. Kelly denied all allegations.
After years of legal proceedings, the case went to trial in 2008. The jury ultimately ruled that there was insufficient evidence to verify the girl’s age in the video, leading to Kelly’s acquittal on all charges.
Kelly was later arrested and charged with another 12 counts of making child pornography, but all charges were dropped.
During the same year, Patrice Jones sued Kelly for $50k after claiming she met Kelly in 1998 when she was 16. Jones’ suit claimed that she and Kelly engaged in inapproprate sexual activity at his Chicago Trax Studio, as well as on his tour bus and in various hotels, two to three times per week during the bulk of the relationship.
Jones said Kelly enagaged in sexual acts with her between 20 and 30 times prior to her 17th birthday. “During their ‘relationship’, Kelly promised to teach her about the music industry including operation of musical equipment and the making of music videos.
Patrice would become pregnant, and she alleges he forced her to have an abortion.
Additionally, during the same year, dancer Montina Woods claimed Kelly taped her during sex without her consent.
Both cases were settled and didn’t go to trial.
2017: ‘Sex cult’ claims
Three former employees claimed six women lived in properties rented by Kelly, and stated “he controls every aspect of their lives: dictating what they eat, how they dress, when they bathe, when they sleep, and how they engage in sexual encounters that he records.”
They also claimed that he made them dress in joggers and were required to call him “Daddy”.
However, the claims were downplayed by Robert, and even by one of the alleged victims herself, Jocelyn Savage, who told a news channel she was fine and not being held against her will; although she refused to reveal her location.
In the same year, a woman named Jerhonda Pace broke a non-disclosure agreement to speak about having sex with Kelly while she was underage.
She alleged when she was 16, she was invited onto Kelly’s tour bus in Chicago, and found him nude with another woman who was there to show her how to “please” him.
In the interview, she added that Robert would “physically harm” her as punishment.
Another woman, Kitti Jones, accused the R&B singer of starving her and forcing her to have sex with other women during their relationship.
2018: Former girlfriend Faith Rodgers’ tells her story
That same year, Robert’s former girlfriend Faith Rodgers sued him for allegedly giving her herpes when she was 19, claiming he also video taped himself having non-consensual sex with her.
In the 2018 BBC three part documentary, ‘R Kelly: Sex, Girls and Videotapes‘, former friend Lovell Jones revealed that R. Kelly’s taste for young girls was “common knowledge in the camp”.
Studio engineer James Lee revealed the dude had a queen sized bed in the studio and would pick up women from McDonalds, saying: “They were there for one thing, to service Rob, and when he was tired of you it’s like you’re a Big Mac, and when he’s done eating you, he throws the wrapper away.”
2019: Sex trafficking charges
On July 11, 2019, R. Kelly was arrested on federal charges for sex crimes, human trafficking and obstruction of justice.
As of July 12, 2019, the charges against R. Kelly include child pornography, kidnapping and forced labor, and were filed by the Northern District of Illinois where he is currently being held.
Kelly was denied bail and has been in custody ever since.
Kelly is also facing charges in New York which include racketeering and violations of the Mann Act, which prohibits sex trafficking across state lines.
Florida and Georgia are reportedly doing some investigations of their own.
While awaiting trial, he’s been attacked by at least one fellow inmate, Jeramiah Farmer, who wrote a letter saying he was forced to attack R Kelly in hopes to gain notoriety so that he could shed light on government corruption.
2021: After many delays the trial begins
Now, the Piss Pi…. I mean the Pied Piper of R& B is set to appear in court and could face up to life in prison if found guilty.
Earlier this year, Associated Press reported prosecutors in the sex trafficking case say he also had sexual contact with an underage boy in addition to girls.
Given the severity of all the charges, it is possible that Mr. Trapped In The Closet’s luck might just be running out. He’s also collected a few witness tampering charges along the way since he’s been locked up.
One of his lawyers said last week that his “funds have been depleted,” and that he needed new clothing for trial because he had gained weight in jail.
